I have a big date coming up in about 7 days and now I see that I am coming down with a cold sore. I have only had one other in my life. I am 45. Could you help me get rid of this please?
I love your articles, and your web site.
Thanks
LaceyHey Lacey
Great to hear from you, Lacey. Thank you so much for the 5 stars too. I really appreciate the salute.
If I were you, Lacey, I would be taking lysine, about 5000 milligrams daily - spread out with your meals. I would mix up a batch of crushed garlic and olive oil and put this on regularly. I would also get some zinc lozenges and suck those constantly. Better yet, the oral zinc spray is easier to use and tastes better. You can also spray this directly on the sore area.
Also, put some honey on it too.
Take care, Lacey. Thank you so much for commenting here. I really love helping people with this.

Hello Denny
Fantastic info about cold sores. I put your 3daycoldsorecure web site on facebook for my friends - many of them get cold sores and have been disappointed with the info that is out there.
I tried the lysine and it does not work for me. I do get a lot of cold sores and I got a really bad one right now. PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanks denny.Hi Fiona
Wonderful to hear from you Fiona. I am so sorry not to get back to you sooner. This is a great article directory but sometimes they do not notify me when I get a comment on one of my articles - so I didn't know you were here.
Thank you so much, Fiona, for putting my 3daycoldsorecure web site on your facebook. The primary reason for that web site is to share what my research reveals and help as many folks as possible get the trustworthy and accurate info they need. There is just so much misinformation out there that I can see why so many people are confused. It can cause such needless suffering.
OK, Fiona, here is how lysine works. Lysine works great if used correctly.
The amino acid Arginine is the protein needed to create new cold sore viruses. When the herpes virus activates, it moves to the surface of your skin for the sole purpose of replicating offspring.
Actually, the herpes virus cannot create its own offspring, like most living organisms. What it does is enters and takes control of one of your cells and forces that cell to produce fully operational clones. It is kind of like building a car in a way. There is no children viruses - they are all adult and fully operational from the beginning. They are created not born.
The main protein needed to create these protein-based organisms is Arginine. This is a very common amino acid found to varying degrees in most foods. It is important to your body for a variety of tasks, such as hormone creation and keeping blood pressure down.
Your cells store it for future in a special storage area shared with Lysine, another important amino acid.
When you flood your cells with Lysine, it tends to force out and reduce the Arginine supplies. The herpes virus cannot use the Lysine protein for replication. Lysine is a neutral from a viral standpoint.
The herpes virus will sense that there is not sufficient Arginine in storage to create new clones and will bypass those cells. If there is not sufficient Arginine to accomplish its task, the virus will not be able to replicate and will eventually go back into hiding.
You have just avoided a cold sore since it is the replication process that causes them.
One very important thing - keep in mind that it is not the PRESENCE of Lysine but the ABSENSE of Arginine that does the job here.
In every case that I have seen so far, where Lysine "doesn't work", it is because of an unusually high intake of Arginine due to diet choices. Basically, grains, nuts and seeds have the highest content of Arginine. Sometimes you cannot take enough Lysine to overcome this.
Usually, we have solved this problem by just eliminating (only for a couple days) grains and products made from them - baked goods, breads, many processes frozen meals, etc. Look on the label. By reducing the Arginine intake, you give the Lysine a chance to complete its part in all this.
Maybe you love grains or are a vegetarian. Whatever the case, Fiona, you will be amazed at the results.
I want you to know this is not provided as medical advice but just sharing the research I have done and the experience of others.
Arginine is an important amino acid for your health, Fiona, so do not avoid it for any length of time. It is NOT the best way to prevent cold sores.
For even more information about long term avoidance of cold sores (and other diseases) please read my recently posted article "Repeated Cold Sores" on my 3daycoldsorecure web site (link at top under my name). Please read it now - it is totally free.
Thank you so much for stopping by, Fiona. It has been a pleasure to meet you.
Take care and have a great weekend. I would love any further questions from you are anyone else reading this. I want to help you.
